    Pros

Great potential in EMEA and product.

    Cons

Way too many hands-off managers & time-wasting meetings with no clarity on agenda and strong grip on follow up.

I worked at Hotelbeds full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A market leader that pays a reasonable salary, however they definitely want their ‘pound of flesh’ in return. Your expected to work above and beyond while under intense pressure.

    Cons

    * Hotelbeds don’t consider their hotel suppliers as partners, and indeed, customers that are buying a distribution service. But as assets to be exploited to the maximum. * Distribution of FIT rates via B2C appears to be their default position even when it is forbidden by contracts terms. *Hotelbeds internal processes and operations are by design purposed to over sell allocation, ignore close outs and under pay... hotel invoices. * Working for this company has badly damaged my reputation as their ‘cowboy’ distribution and dirty tactics with hotels naturally reflected upon me, the a/c manager. * Sadly, a rather miserable place to work with huge levels of employees unhappy, stressed, depressed and anxious, wishing they worked somewhere else.

    Advice to Management

Long term your current strategy has to fail as all the hotels will eventually get fed up of being exploited and treated poorly. distribution of FIT rates to anyone and everyone is a total disregard for your hotel partners and undermines the whole industry. Gaining an edge by sharp practice is not sustainable. Hotels hate Hotelbeds for a reason.

    Pros

The staff are great - you get to work with genuinely nice people. Great diversity within the organization also.

    Cons

Not a great time to work there as there is a lot going on in terms of changes and consultations. Lack of direction and processes within the organization. The culture within the office is not so good as staff morale is understandably at an all time low. Pay is low and benefits are just ok.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending that you know what you are doing it’s only a matter of time before it becomes obvious that you don’t and things start to fall apart.

    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at Hotelbeds full-time

    Pros

    • Lots of roles allow for travel. • People generally don't know what they are doing so it's easy to do better. • If it suits you to be lazy - this is the place for you.

    Cons

    • You'll never be given a decent hotel to stay in - ironically. • As soon as you attempt to do anything good, management will ask you to make it mediocre so you don't show up your colleagues. • There's no sense of humanity. People are poorly treated. You'll be asked to move country and then fired for some dubious reason soon after. • The company is run on ego. Don't share ideas or opinions that might be better.... You'll only become a target. • Too many people have jobs because of who they know. Generally they're incompetent, outspoken and rude (paranoid). • Basic facilities are missing in the Palma office especially. Generally facilities are awful across offices. • It's not uncommon for people to leave because they've waited so long for a laptop to work on or anyone to recognise they're there.

    Advice to Management

    • You need to step back and let people with global know-how run this business. • You don't understand people - and you don't seem intent on understanding people. I think you should give that a go. • Palma is not a place to hire the experienced people you need. Relocate your HQ.

I worked at Hotelbeds full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People are generally great. Coping with massive corporate change and management indecision.

    Cons

Aiming to be the number one in the industry without having a defined plan of action to get there. Any plan which is in place is not supported by adequate direction. Decisions made slowly and often changed once hard work has been done to achieve the original targets. Confusing for employees.

I have been working at Hotelbeds full-time

    Pros

Growing fast, good reputation in market, hq in palma de malllorca, 300 days a year of sunshine

    Cons

Growing too fast with too much at stake for control freaks and people promoted beyond their capabilities

    Advice to Management

Get a life, treat people with respect, take a good look at nepotism, and how many partners are recruited of senior managers not on merit but because who they are married to
