Pros

There are a lot of efforts right now to make Hotspex a better place to work. This includes automating more of our processes so that people dont have to spend days doing menial tasks that a computer can do in seconds. Making the tools more efficient so that more time can be spent on actually building stories, and doing things that market researchers are passionate about. In terms of benefits, there are quite a few. Three weeks vacation, sufficient pay, good health insurance.

Cons

My main issue is that there is definitely more emphasis on caring about the company, and end product rather than the people who make it there. It is no secret that virtually everyone is dissatisfied with the lack of work-life balance, and that employee morale is low. Secondly, I believe there is a lack of discussion on the work we do. We finish projects and immediately, we are on a new one. Rarely do we get proper feedback on the work we do, or the time to discuss with other workers on the work we did. I think this lack of feedback stunts methodological growth. How do we know that the questions we asked, the methods we used were the right ones? There is no time for introspection on either ourselves, or on the study itself. Lastly, I believe our CEO to be a good, and passionate person but can be misled when it comes to incentives. Giving gifts and free food does not make us happier to work here, when respect for our own personal lives is breached constantly.
