- High turnover in recent years, particularly in management - Culty, toxic culture. You either fit in or you don't. And you'll know it when you don't - No HR when it is desperately needed - CEO says "no room for drama" but the company is filled with catty, gossipy, passive aggressive people. This is the most unnecessarily dramatic workplace I've ever been a part of. There are people who were fired or resigned years ago that are still gossiped about on a regular basis - CEO openly bragged about firing someone for disagreeing with him, then wonders why people find him unapproachable. He is not the only person in management who openly bragged about firing a direct report - It is an open secret that the CEO is "weird with women" (not my words) - You are constantly watched/listened to by management, and management will openly admit this - Advisors are poorly managed and generally do whatever they want, even if it's not compliant. Management knows that many of the advisors choose not to adhere to various policies and advisors largely face no repercussions for it. Advisors can miss meetings or neglect clients and face little to no consequences, then the rest of the staff is stuck dealing with the angry client - Mediocrity is tolerated and high performing employees are expected to pick up the slack - Little opportunity for professional growth - Health coverage for spouses and dependents is unaffordable - Stupid slide in the back office
