Pros

Everything burns so you'll have to deal with a lot of various and intense situations. If motivated, exponential learning curve, if not, burnout ahead... Business is great and extremely interesting, customer base is prestigious. Find the great people and you'll have a lot of fun doing your job. Gym on-site

Cons

Fake reviews : Cf April 2017/2016/2014 proves failure in change management or even change willingness. Lowest package ever. No company benefit. No REER plan Poor health care aka bare minimum Low salary. Executive Management has no vision, low skills and is unwilling to grow because if so, it would confirm their lack of overall professionalism. CEO did a great job building this company from the ground up but didn't pass along the thrill to the children. Negotiations resemble extorsion or scam. Contracts, when they exist are not respected. Payroll makes regular mistakes. Expenses take 1.5 month to get reimbursed. Middle management is poor or unexperienced. None have true management skills. Employee growth is irrelevant. Working here is like being in an abusive relationship, for some twisted reason we love it, but it only hurts.

Pros

Bottom line people work very hard, although their efforts are not being rewarded at all. A lot of overtime due to poor planning of the workload.

Cons

Since it's a family business, nepotism is very much present in this company. Jobs are being handed out to friends and family of management. So as long as you're friends with a one of the managers or the family, consider yourself having a new job, doesn't matter if you're clueless. Also, a lot of politics between departments, where a lot of back stabbing and blaming is happening as everyone is trying to cover their mistakes if something goes wrong. Worst place I've ever worked at. Quite a few managers that should be selling hotdogs at the street corner instead of working in this place!

Pros

Hard work, low pay, free parking and no windows

Cons

Everybody is paranoid somebody's coming for their work even about departments and superiors with no direct oversight. On the other hand, upper management has virtually no real world experience, with rampant nepotism in the leadership, which translates to managers of all departments basically giving orders with no action plans behind their demands. They wonder why nothing is ever satisfying for them. The company announced it would be selling some assets and that it was the most profitable year for them yet, and still, when asked, colleagues will tell you what their salaries are, having no idea how much they'd be worth in a normal economy. Surprise, surprise, half the employees are not permanent residents so this is their first and only job they can do. Oh, and somebody died while I was working there. No benefits whatsoever. Super exploitative. Clown act. Poop parade.

We are sorry that your experience has not been a good one. We are surprised by some of the comments as they certainly do not reflect our values. We would like to take the time to address some of your comments: 1. Your comment regarding nepotism is not accurate. The company adheres to strict anti-nepotism procedures regarding the employment of relatives. 2. In terms of salaries, we conduct yearly performance management appraisals in which performance is reviewed and merit is awarded based on performance. 3. Your comment regarding half of our workforce not being permanent residents is false as the majority of our workforce are proud Canadians. We do employ a diverse workforce and pride ourselves in giving people an equal opportunity and will continue to welcome diversity. 4. Finally, we do not understand the relevance of commenting about an employee who passed away tragically due to circumstances completely unrelated to his employment with us. We remain deeply saddened by the passing of any of our employees. Finally, we always encourage anyone who has not had a positive experience to reach out to our HR department at hr@hypertec.com or our Sr. Vice-President of HR directly to discuss further. We believe that open dialogue is key to any successful organization.
