Pros

Monthly dessert for Birthdays also we had a pizza party because "we are making so much money" (but no raises). Everyone (except two execs) are VERY friendly and hard hard working. I know when I leave I will still be friends with many.

Cons

Management specifically, two executives make it very hard to work here and they are the CEO and HR dept. Their behavior is both unethical and abusive. Yelling, swearing, and gossip from these executives bring the place down. It would be a terrific place to work if their attitudes change or even better.... got fired! It's so bad finally someone is suing them you can read about it in the NY Post. Also I know for a fact that HR posts fake posts in order to get a higher rating...sad

Pros

You are working and get a steady paycheck. The company brand name is growing

Cons

Owned by a hedge fund which really only cares about them making a profit. This means your position will be reduced to the lowest staff available. So you may end up doing the work of 2 -3 people. DO NOT expect a raise for something as simple as cost of living. Some people have worked for 7 years without a raise for cost of living adjustments. Which means if you start the company for 30K and 5 years later you will be making 30K while inflation rises thus decreases your buying power. When you ask for salary you should ask for enough to get you by knowing the chances of you making more down the road is slim.

Pros

I would say the only positive from working at ION were the life long friendships made from the few good people that work/worked there.

Cons

So many cons to list, but I will give you the most relevant ones. Hostile work environment, the CEO does not value his employees and it trickles down the management pipeline. Management can be completely condescending and ineffective in managing their direct reports. Many employees, myself included suffered (some still suffering) from severe anxiety. The CEO wants to do everyone's job and doesn't let the experts in their field do what they were hired to do. Working in the industry for over a decade, I've never seen an organization run this way. Employees are dropping like flies due to poor leadership and lack of structure. There is no job security, no raises, no bonuses, and if you are laid off no severance what so ever. There is no loyalties or team camaraderie- Some people within the organization are impossible to work with and will try to throw you under the bus at any chance they get. They will look to point the finger to get the focus off themselves. Zero work/life balance
