Pros

- Friendly people, relaxed atmosphere in Rubery office. - Local leadership is very accessible.

Cons

- 20 days annual leave is really below average - UK is a new market to Infosys BPM and there are some cultural differences between staff and leadership. - Free parking and on-site restaurant are listed as perks but really so far out of the centre of Birmingham this is the standard these days so hardly something to brag about.

Work itself is good, everything else is terrible.

Pros

Relaxed atmosphere in office Friendly colleagues. Timesheet system when properly embedded into the business will allow you to take back any overtime as time off.

Cons

40 hour working week – 0830 to 1730 with 1 hour for lunch. Doesn’t reflect modern working patterns. 20 days annual leave is completely unacceptable. No option to purchase more. 3 days paid sick leave. Not that I plan to use months of sick leave, in the long term I’m not sure I can continue to work for a company that values me so little. No life assurance or healthcare policy. Statutory minimum pension that is only paid on ‘qualifying earnings’ – not even your full salary! Statutory minimum maternity, paternity, and adoption leave. Communication from Infosys is poor. One example – told we couldn’t roll forward holiday so people took their outstanding balances, then a few days before the period end we were told that they are changing the policy and we can roll forward holiday. Not good! Communication is worded as though it’s been written by a 4-year-old and I imagine is only appealing to a 4-year-old. Free parking isn’t a benefit when you’re in the outskirts of Birmingham. There is an option to work from home but it is not in the culture to do so. Management should push this. No social budgets. No tea and coffee making facilities (only free vending machines of questionable quality), no microwaves, no fridges. Expensive canteen. No space to hold meetings or take a call. Some rooms have been taken over by the Infosys leadership when they were supposed to be meeting rooms. Timesheet system is not user friendly. Suggestion box is ignored.

Pros

The facilities staff are all very friendly

Cons

1. Benefits package gives the very minimum - 3 paid days sick for the whole year, minimum pension contribution, minimum paternity/maternity, only 20 days holiday (excluding bank holidays) with no option to buy more 2. The facilities here aren't that great - no microwave or fridge as they have a canteen on site which I was told they want people spending money on hence nowhere to heat up or store your own food 3. The systems are completely outdated...all using Windows 8, with some of the worst chairs, monitors, laptops that I've seen in any work setting 4. 40 hour working week for Infosys employees whereas the Compass teams are doing less...unfair as everyone should be on the same hours...brings anomosity as its not being treated equally 5. Office location isn't great as it's in the middle of Rubery which has no nearby train station. If the company wants to be taken seriously, then maybe look to move to Birmingham City Centre which has all the transport/business links instead of being in the middle of nowhere!
