Pros

FYI: I've overheard people over in Marketing talk about adding artificial 5 star reviews on glassdoor to pump up the company rating. That explains why there are a lot of suspiciously short 5 star reviews for this company. You can tell which ones they are: they all have 5 stars, a single sentence for each pro/con entry, and almost exactly the same headline that's some version of "great place to work" or "great company to work for". (In some cases it's THE exact same headline multiple times.) Whoever is writing the fake reviews can't be imaginative enough or take the time to write a decent fake review... Insight is a very easy place to work if you only want to simple/routine work. A lot of people in the company picked Insight because they are not looking for anything ambitious. If you're ok with no career growth, a highly political environment (which is ok if you're completely checked out), then work at Insight. New office is nice, location could be better Unlimited free (bad) coffee Very low expectations Great pension contribution

Cons

The main one is the lack of career opportunities. Promotions happen about as often as global pandemics and in the rare event of a new role becoming available (usually because someone has quit out of frustration), they pick less qualified external candidates who will not cause waves. Highly political environment. The place is overrun by managers who only care about appearing to be busy. Salary is below market rate. Bonuses are a joke. Collectively determined by managers and are not at all related to your performance. Open office plan is highly distracting. Facetime is very real here. It's done in an attempt to appear important to other teams/departments. This is also why there are soooo many pointless meetings. People love to book 1-hour meetings for things that can be decided over email. Busywork is king. There is an annoying trick managers will pull to appear busy and more valuable in the eyes of others: Manager 1 will ask Manager 2 if they need X done. Manager 2 will agree knowing full well they don't need X done. Manager 1 will then boast about how they've taken on so much while Manager 2 will boast about how they're collaborating so much with Manager 1. It's a bizarre phenomenon that arises in cultures that reward busywork. The end result is no value is created but two managers have helped each other appear like they're working hard. Diversity is a joke. A lot of talk about diversity when it's topical but no action taken. Management doesn't like to tell the truth about the state of the business. Saying "we're amazing" works for clients but not internally.

Pros

Good office location Some nice work colleagues

Cons

Some mid managers are not necessarily the most qualified to be in that position and spend a lot of time creating issues for inexplicable reasons and demoralizing the wider team Work is mostly not appreciated as you are simply "another number" and anything can be expected from you. Micro-Management culture with little to no support from line managers. Their HR department is somewhat rather unprofessional and slow in "dealing with issues" No chance of progression at all Vacancies are at times "oversold" to new applicants Poor benefits (especially corporate pension) and compensation when compared with the market
