Pros

Honestly, the only pros were some of the friends/colleagues I met there, who also shared the same pain of being at Invonto. Also, I guess you get to add some years to employment history for your next job.

Cons

The CEO promotes his company as being cutting-edge, but it really isn't. There aren't many employees and the CEO is always looking for ways to get cheap labor or build things as cheap as possible. The turn-over rate is RIDICULOUSLY high. Many people leave within a year. (One was rumored to leave on his first day after I left). During my short time there, 4 people left, and there were fewer than 9 people working there at the time. The list of cons are almost endless, but the most glaring ones are the following: 1. Really low pay. For reference, I started making roughly triple on my next job. 2. Micromanaging, I mean SERIOUS micromanaging. Everything is monitored and you record your time for every single task. 3. For engineers/devs, there is absolutely no code review process 4. Really terrible projects/deadend projects that see almost no users (I'm not joking). The experience you will gain here will translate very little on your next job. 5. The CEO will complain on slack, A LOT. And by complaining, he will complain to the devs and engineers through the project manager or whoever else is in charge of your tasks. Also, he will complain on Slack, talking about the things that should've been done a certain way, when there literally IS no process. 6. There is no on-boarding process. The day I joined, I was already given tasks and expected to fix bugs and make changes. 8. You will most likely be expected to work over-time (staying in the office longer to finish your tasks) and also work outside of work hours to "catch up" 7. The "benefits" you get here are laughably bad I can go on and on, but one thing is for sure. Every employee I've talked to there had the immediate intention to leave within the month.

Pros

Two of the people remaining at this company are nice and good at their jobs.

Cons

1) The owner. The above reviews are all written by him along with the employee testimonials on the website's about page. Aside from that, he is unethical, a very poor leader, passive aggressively complains about employees to other employees without facing them directly, underpays for good work and does not give raises. 2) No growth. The company is a sinking ship. There is one large client that the whole company has relied on for a couple years. After that client leaves, the company will not be able to survive. 3) Unispiring physical work environment (think prison cell, but smaller). 4) No empowerment or autonomy due to micro-managing. 5) Most new hires leave very quickly.

Pros

Nothing. No benefits. No insurance. 6-month probationary period.

Cons

I applied to this company and received an offer. After doing their interview process, including an on-site and programming assignment, they changed it from full time into contract. They lied about the pay. They agreed to X pay before and during the interview. When I received the offer, it was X/3 pay. Do not trust this company. They bring you in with promises, then hope you're desperate enough to accept the lies. And yes, their office is a prison cell.

Dear Reviewer, Thank you for sharing your experience. We do not have any records of making such an offer. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer with a diverse workforce. We offer merit-based & competitive compensation, good benefits, and a lot of opportunities for growth. We treat all of our team members with complete fairness. Since we do not have any account of employing you, please provide additional information to verify your employment with our company 1) Please provide a copy of offer letter and employment documents. This can be emailed to hr@invonto.com. Our job offers are always competitive and as per the market standards. You've mentioned receiving an offer 1/3rd of your expected salary so this will help determine whether you were offered below market salary or whether your expectations were substantially higher. It is not unusual for a company to offer a salary that doesn't match what a candidate might be seeking. And if our job offer didn't meet your expectations then you might not have even accepted that offer. So please clarify if you've actually worked with us as per your review or just went through the interview process. 2) Most of our benefits such as paid healthcare, paid vacation days, sick days, flex-time, working-from-home, paid bereavement days, education reimbursement, fitness allowance etc are listed on the offer letter, employment agreement, and other onboarding documents. There are several additional perks such as free snacks, free lunches, training program, career counseling etc which are offered without mentioning. Benefits are standard across all full-time employees and even the hourly employees receive many of these benefits. 3) Similar to most of the businesses, our standard policy is to offer a 3-month probation period. A 3-month probation period serves as a training and onboarding period. 6-month probation period mentioned on your review seems inaccurate. After receiving copies of hiring documents, we will investigate to ensure there were no errors on our part. At the same time, if you find out that there are inaccuracies in your review then please update your review. Inaccurate reviews can discourage potential job seekers from job opportunities that could otherwise prove to be a great stepping stone in their careers. You might already know that many of our former employees are now working for Apple, Google, SAP, Accenture, Avis, and other major corporations. They credit their career growth to experience & mentoring they received while working with us. We have several great opportunities available for our New Jersey and New York locations. These opportunities could be a great fit for many job seekers looking to advance their career. We look forward to hearing from you.
