Pros

work from home, flexible working hours

Cons

- People can never have any job security over there. They can suddenly promote a bunch of people and laid off a bunch of people WITHOUT any quantifiable performance review. It's simply based on CEO or leadership's subjective view. - CEO will come to any manager and how's someone (on your team) doing, and he makes judgement on that. The performance review is a joke thing, the people management decision is purely subjective. - Someone from senior leadership tends to be very nice to you, doesn't give you feedback and then stab you in the back. - Leadership doesn't have strategy, very little experience with ecommerce. - Don't trust all the 5 starts review. They forced people to write it after 3 months you joined.

Pros

- I work with some really awesome people who are here because they believe in the company, regardless of what happens. - We all have a direct impact from day 1. Come here if you want to help steer the ship. Lots of opportunities to test, improve, and help build. - Really cool market positioning... if we figure out how to breakthrough.

Cons

- Executive leadership (specifically CEO) can improve how they interact and communicate with the company. Others have mentioned this, I won't reiterate. - As other reviewers have said, firings. Sometimes one person is fired, other times groups of people. Lately, 10 people were let go on a single day. These were some amazing members of our team. This hurts morale and makes the job feel insecure. I feel like I have to constantly prove why I deserve to have a job, and feel like I can't fully trust the narrative senior leadership presents about why people are let go. - Constant changes to the business, making it feel like we're running around in circles. - Compensation and benefits are not up to par with the market. - Other startup growing pains.

It’s a Trap

Pros

-Unlimited PTO -I work with a great group of people that deserve better (only reason this review has two stars, tbh)

Cons

-CEO has no boundaries. It feels like he barely works throughout the week and did all of his tasks during the weekend. This meant constant pinging during the morning, day and night on Saturdays and Sundays. -The creative team is interesting. A few awesome people but there are two psycho women who meddle in everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) and they’re praised for it. You know it’s a bigger issue when multiple people across departments echo the same concern but nothing is done to fix it. -You’re given the choice to have stock in the company but it’s not even public so don’t waste your time on something literally valueless. -Random cuts happen here and there. Some times it’s one person, sometimes a group of people. All the time it’s because of “performance” and never because of the obvious: CEO is cheap and tries to cut costs where he thinks he can. Ultimately, your job is never safe. -A LOT of outsourced, low-paying roles to people in Asia and other countries where one would assume the cost of employing these professionals is a lot lower than what it would cost in the U.S.. It’s not a con but definitely something to keep an eye on. Most of these people work their butts off and you can’t help but wonder if the CEO is even paying them well
