Pros

I had did not have a single positive experience while working at Jaipur.

Cons

The root of the problem is this: the CEO, Asha Chaudhary, never had another job prior to becoming CEO of her father's company. Asha literally went from business school to CEO. As a result her company is very flawed. I was in the marketing department. My managers never made me feel like I was part of the team. I was just there to get the tasks that they requested done. There was little leadership demonstrated and it was clear that my managers, at least in the marketing department, were only interested in their own self interests and not the betterment of the company as a whole. Jaipur is an unethical company with terrible leadership. I know for a fact that the few good reviews on Glassdoor were bribed out of employees by the HR department. Do no work at this company. My experience there was very disappointing because I fell in love with the story of the company and what I thought it was about: empowering artisans across the world and bringing an ancient craft to a modern market. This all a glossy story and is not true. These are not good people to work for.

I am sorry that you feel you did not have a single, positive experience while at Jaipur. Asha Chaudhary literally grew up with the company in her home, with 2 looms and 9 artisans. Because of her leadership, the company has grown to over 40,000 artisans and has made Inc's magazine's list of the 5000 fastest private growing companies for the past 2 years. It takes a GREAT CEO to make this happen. I don't think anyone can discount the fact that our artisans have been giving amazing opportunities to be empowered by becoming entrepreneurs, opportunities for free education, training, and healthcare. No one has been bribed to write a positive review. Positive reviews are not only encouraged, but do exist on our profile. Connie Kasputis HR Manager

Pros

I dont see any Pros apart from that there are few good people in this company

Cons

The CMD has no vision where he wants to take this company. He feels hiring people means growing. He can fire anybody I MEAN A N Y B O D Y WITHOUT ANY REASON. Just like that. You are been called in his cabin and told to leave. That is it.........no reasons given. This is highly unorganized organization and anybody who trys to organize things that would not happen. Because the CMD has his own way of working and if anybody tries to changes it he feels offended and boy are fired.People there are so full of IGO and uncooperation that no good person would be able to survive there. They come with small mind and small vision. Nobody has a dream to grow big. Everybody is a boss there. Especially the people who are there for few years. They are like supreme GODS of Jaipur Rugs. You have to get CMD's approval for even of the smallest of the things. You cant just take a decision on your own. no matter how many years of experience you carry. No matter how great education background you have. You wont be listened. The CMD tells everybody to unlearn themselves to understand his company. But he is so full of his past experience that he does not let himself to know the other person. It feels he is always in a hurry to fire somebody. Other company's CMDs have target to grow their organization from one stage to other. It seems this CMD has target to fire certain people every year The sole purpose of this company is to DESTROY PEOPLE's CAREER. They brand themselves by the name JAIPUR. Jaipur is a name of city in Rajasthan, A city of joy, love, culture, respect, and they bring disgrace to it by using its name

Pros

None at all aprt from the city it is located in

Cons

I am writing this review again because of the fake reviews that the employees have posted and cannot find any problem with the company apart from a "working saturday". This company is strictly for a hardcore carpet person. If you do not belong to this line, pl avoid at all costs. The new employees are sized up for a few day and then are thrown out without any reason. You must be seeing > 40 reviews posted online for this company which does a business of around 100 crores in India--whereas most companies who have a business of > 500 crores do not have 10 reviews even. This is only because the ex and existing employees are not taken care of. PL avoid at all costs. Do not go by the looks.
