Simplify, focus, and care to unlock potential

Pros

There are skilled, friendly colleagues across different roles and countries. Within teams, there are some good managers and a sense of camaraderie. Flexible work arrangements. K3 has acquired many businesses, mainly in retail and manufacturing tech, over the years. There is plenty of variety in its products and services, so you'll probably find something there to fit your own skills and career preferences. Even though it's been through some tough times, there is still potential and good ideas amongst the people and solutions at K3.

Cons

It can feel like everything is over complicated and slow moving. There's been a theme of change for several years but the business could still do with picking just a few things to excel at. It's diluted and not good enough (yet) at any one thing. Top down communication and leadership can also feel distant and clinical. Recent bad experiences with handling of redundancies really brought this to light.

Pros

For the branch I worked in I worked with a very passionate team of people who have worked in the company for a long time. If you were based in the Netherlands you also had access to twice yearly events which were good fun.

Cons

They have a very white, male dominated leadership team and work force that was reluctant to adapt although adaptability was improving when I left.

Pros

There is a real willingness and desire from the Senior Leadership Team to get things right for the people at K3 and customers they serve Flexible working is encouraged across the entire organisation The company have adapted well to the COVID-19 situation There are some great teams within the business, all with specialist knowledge within their fields The mindest is very much one focused around innovation; creating new solutions, improving processes and introducing initiatives to improve how things work

Cons

The journey that the business is on requires a lot of change which has the potential to cause fatigue amongst teams/individuals

Could Be Great - Never Will Be

Pros

* If you need a job, they're hiring! * If you're poor at your job, but are visible, you'll never get reprimanded or fired - so there's that * Personal Development is non-existent. There was an attempt at this but it was given lip service and not followed up in a timely manner

Cons

There is little reason to choose this over any other provider within the same sector. * Some people who actually do the work are trying to make a change however they are seldom listened to. * A vision now exists, but it's extremely vague, poorly implemented, and is to the detriment of all other revenue streams within the wider company. * Nobody listens - they all nod, but nobody actually takes time to understand the wider business * Too many "empire builders" employed. Very top-heavy * Finally, a lack of decisiveness and rudderless leadership, still.

Pros

Fantastic bunch of highly skilled staff and interesting projects.

Cons

Lack of investment and poor leadership left many staff and customers moving to better performing competitors. Poor company performance over five years was blamed on the failing high street retail sector, which the management team failed to diversify away from despite having the in house skills to do so. The UK Dynamics practice was put into administration during the COVID-19 crisis leaving around 140 people without a job, with no help and no effort made to use them in other parts of the business.

Pros

For the last 10 years, there has been a lack of strong leadership, mainly due to cheap internal promotions, significantly biased towards the dutch HQ leadership MS team & friends, The pro is that due to this, there was little to no accountability, so if you wanted, you could lift a wage all the way to retirement, or await a pay off (to save the incumbent poor leadership having to get involved in HR issues).

Cons

Complete confusion for the last 10 years as to whether it is a software development company, a reseller of other peoples software or a hardware & hosting provider.
