      It’s a great job for a flexible schedule, but don’t expect to move up.

      Pros

      Flexible Schedule, and easy to get days off. Your daily tasks are straight forward. Great on your resume if you plan to stay in news.

      Cons

      Low pay compared to other stations They want you to join a union that costs more than you make in a month Poor management - There are too many people in charge and little communication between them. Many writers do not do a lot of stories in a day. If you’re fast, you’ll be doing double the work of others but no difference in pay.

      Pros

      Great station ratings wise, lots of resources, the best in the business, a well oiled machine.

      Cons

      They give you 4-6 hour shifts so you can't be considered full time and can pay you less. They write you up for every little mistake you make and keep a file with them all. They will email every typo you make to you and put it in your file. Bad atmosphere for morale. Writers have to edit what they write. Nearly impossible to move up without staying for 20 years.
