Pros

Love my team and the kids and families. Awesome supervisors but they are powerless to help us

Cons

-Pay is salaried. It's low for social workers with some experience, but those who apply straight out of college drown in the work. The organizational support is terrible and there are often new tasks or requirements added, without alleviating other duties. I need about 60 hours to do all of my work effectively, with the most support to clients, and to have files in order for the joint commission when my department is fully staffed. I cannot work that many hours. -Workers who improve outcomes with measurable quantitative success are not rewarded for such work and instead are expected to continually carry a heavier load. I also believe KVC could do a better job with DCF to improve and streamline reporting requirements. There are too many types of documentation that duplicate the same work, leading to confusion, wasting time, and failing to document things already documented in favor of doing required visits (which is more important, seeing a child in person to ensure safety and care, or writing the second report that says the same thing as the one you already wrote?) -Benefits are fair but not appropriate for maintaining people who are real professionals. If you want good staff, pay for it and hold then accountable. Turns out competing agencies offer twice the vacation pay, tuition reimbursement, 5% retirement match, full payment of health insurance, etc. Flexible work schedule is not a benefit. It's more like you set your own hours because you have to be flexible to what your clients need. So if you don't want to work nights, too bad. You're working nights. They also try to tell you they won't pay overtime (illegal) or that they won't pay mileage over a certain amount. This leads to people not doing visits because there are not enough company cars. -so much work it's expected you respond to texts, emails and phone calls while driving as long as you don't talk about it. -so much money is wasted on people who falsify documents or are horrible to children. The job would be better done by paying people fairly, and not holding on to terrible employees. If the positions were desired instead of bottom of the barrel, they world have highly desired workers applying and staying.

Pros

I met some life long friends working in Admissions. My supervisors and director were awesome people. They are the reason I stayed as long as I did. This place deserves 0 stars but I gave it one just because of the people I work with.

Cons

EVERYTHING. You will be overworked, and extremely underpaid. There is no room for growth in this company. Permanency (esp. JOCO) and CPA are a joke and blame admissions for everything. The retention rate is embarrassing because of the pay. You will barely make above the poverty line. Most people either have a 2nd job or work lots of OT to keep their head above water. Raises are a joke (literally $.10/yr). Maybe instead of the CEO traveling to Singapore, and spending money a building they don't need (new attachment to the corp office), they could give that money to their employees. This company doesn't care about it's employees at all. The new motto should be #donorsmatter, not #peoplematter.

Pros

Flexible schedule, my direct supervisor was helpful and supportive. Co workers made it enjoyable made some good friendships

Cons

Where do I start....pay SUCKS case managers who make the company run have to work paycheck to paycheck while the suits at corporate live like fat cows. They actually had the audacity to ask employees to "donate" money so they could build a building (which I later found out they named after the CEO who is making probably close to a million a year while his employees struggle to put food on the table) oh but they do give you a 1.5% raise every year which equates to about $15 a paycheck after taxes. They only promote people who are in the cliques in JOCO or who are butt kissers. For a company that supposedly supports the well being of families they sure don't care about their own family (unless your in the cool kids club) avoid this place at all costs. You will be better off waiting tables
