      Pros

      Interesting company, lots of good experience learning about the field of packaged food flavors and colors. Had a family feel.

      Cons

      Conflicts with middle management were not properly addressed. Retaining workers with seniority was more important than the actual competence of those workers.

      Pros

      Kalsec provides for involvement in business decisions. They have not lost the family feeling in the culture.

      Cons

      Indecision and mixed signals from senior management. Only thing they are interested in is sales.

      Great Company, Poor Systems

      Pros

      The company definitely cares about each of its employees as individuals. Pay is comparable to similar jobs in the area. Benefits are great.

      Cons

      Little attention is paid to underperforming managers. Succession within the company seems to be based almost entirely on one's ability to navigate the organization's murky political waters. The company encourages (and rewards) hard work, but often at the cost of employees' work-life balance and overall wellbeing. Systems are outdated and quite frankly detrimental to the growth of the organization. High levels of inertia prevent the company from making necessary changes to keep up with competitors.
