Good atmosphere, good employees, great benefits and rewards
Pros
I enjoyed my time working here. I worked approximately 2.5 years starting as a forklift operator and moving into the tool crib. The employee environment is very friendly and management is tolerable. The facilities are secured and well maintained. Company culture has a very familial atmosphere (make of that what you will). The benefits such as insurance, vision, dental were attractive and management was fair about circumstances such as family emergencies and having to take personal time off. Overtime was good.
Cons
2.5 years and never saw a raise. I started off in an entry level position with the forklift and being a saw operator, then focused more on being forklift driver/material management. One day I get asked if I wanted to be in the tool crib and calibrate. I saw this as a chance to move up and learn new skills so I took it, asked if there was a pay increase and was told "no you are already making the max we offer for this position". Still saw an opportunity to learn more so I took the job anyway. Later asked my supervisor what I could do/what he wanted to see from me in order to move up/get a raise. Supervisor said "walk faster" (this is no joke). I saw other people around me get moved into positions I wanted and get more training than me (they were close friends with supervisor). I'm not good at playing the game of office politics. Rant over.
