Pros
Getting free clothes from time to time was a nice small perk.
Cons
I’ve worked at other international companies before, and this was by far my most difficult experience. While many of my designs sold very well, the day-to-day experience as a fashion designer often felt discouraging. Especially when working with the sweaters team, the dynamic consistently felt dismissive rather than collaborative. Gossip was very common within this team, and the atmosphere often felt tense, unprofessional and uncomfortable. Responsibility for results didn’t feel shared fairly. At times, it felt like certain people were being blamed for outcomes, while others were treated differently depending on personal relationships. The environment felt uneven and unfair. On a more practical level, the day-to-day workplace experience also didn’t feel very supportive. There were no basic shared things like coffee, or fruit, and there was no dishwasher, so people had to queue and wash dishes by hand, which often took time. Over time, all of this made it difficult to feel psychologically comfortable or properly supported at work, even when the results of my work were strong.
