Pros

- Excellent focus at intersection of growth, tech, and impact - Truly diverse team, with gender diversity in London office, people from all over the world, compounded by locally-run offices in Bangalore, Nairobi, and Sao Paulo - Analytical impact methodology holding employees to high standards vis-à-vis ESG criteria and making a positive change - High trust, high accountability culture where everybody is trusted to work hard and execute on their objectives, fostering ownership and innovation - Fast-pace growth unlocking opportunities across corp. dev, HR, marketing, and other functions for all team members (e.g. strategy review, industry conferences) - Conscientious, experienced management that is receptive to new feedback and responded appropriately (e.g. remote working and testing) to COVID-19

Cons

- As Lightrock is on a growth journey, one needs to be committed, willing to take risks, and open to helping build the company to succeed

Pros

Overall (mostly) great people and a large budget, being that the cornerstone investor is the Princely family of Lichenstein. Quite a social bunch (although a few scrooges amongst the senior management, expected) and a small firm meaning it’s possible to interact with everyone including the CEO.

Cons

Lacking solid processes across the board. Small office with not enough seats, but a requirement to be present in the office most days a week which makes the environment extremely uncomfortable. Constantly changing employee requirements. Some very pompous and condescending individuals that do not work well in teams or with others.

Pros

- Large apetite and capacity to deploy money - A true impact investor amid the competitive growth ecosystem - Exposure to senior and experienced professionals - Every voice is heard and matters in the decision-making process - Global firm with high level of freedom to local offices - Investment rationales are well fundamented

Cons

- Not necessarily a bad thing, but as a growing firm, things constantly evolve and one has to be open to change. No time for accommodation
