Pros

Quality Table Cloths (company makes their own) Free perks from vendors Sometimes, gift cards and cash handouts!

Cons

Old dirty/nasty warehouse. Resolving Door of hourly. CEO thinks discharging hourly people instead of fixing things is the best answer. Public firings. No 401K plan No life insurance or disability insurance. No Bonus plan No Dental plan (you pay everything) No Medical for 90 days! No sick or vacation time for one full year! (and it's only 2 weeks)! Long hours and weekends. Small break room Poor working conditions (poor lighting, ugly building). Three years into a DC and just started to develop polices. Potty mouth corporate peeps with tempers. Too much flavor of the day. Bad mouthing of IT experts by an executive. One moment, investments is good and the next day complaints about spending (yoo-yoo). No HR person on site. No security on site. No close place to eat. No lockers. The ones we just got are for Men only. Hot and cold warehouse. No insulation. They do not let us open doors for a breeze cause of theft. People stealing personal items. No training program. No supervisors. VERY poor hiring decisions. Really pushing labor law to the max. When we finally get a good manager, he's gone! I was told to work hard and long for a bonus then never received one even with goal achieved. No development plans. No corporate mission - all about "make money and put the other guy out of business." No plan. Plan is the flavor of the day. Many agency employers crying after being yelled out by executive. Very bad hiring decisions all about. Unhappy people at corporate. DC NOT SET UP to do lots of volume 6 day work weeks, 10-12hr days. Bad rep in the community. Only work there to hold yourself over.

LinenTablecloth - Great employees, terrible place to work

Pros

LinenTablecloth (LTC) offers early advancement opportunities to the right candidates. It consistently looks for those diamonds in the rough new hires. The result is that there are some motivated and creative team members working here

Cons

LTC is run by a husband and wife team, with the wife seeming to be the decision maker. She is easy enough to work with, but is rarely in the office and, being a Chinese national, she doesn't really interact with key personnel, nor understand US employment principles. This means that her only source of information for making decisions comes from her husband who is not an effective communicator, has little experience working in or running a corporation of this size and who spends less than 20 hours a week at the office himself. The decisions that do get made don't seem to be based on any research, core value or any business intelligence of any sort. There isn't a business plan. There aren't any substantive goals for department heads. The goals that are provided to departments aren't well defined and are usually arbitrary (be more touchy-feely in customer service, or, increase site traffic by 2K Daily UVs). These goals are quickly forgotten, and subsequently replaced, within just a few days or weeks. On more than a few occasions, the wife has formed a negative opinion of an employee. Once that has happened, the employee is targeted for dismissal, which usually occurs within that pay period. So now you end up with highly motivated, creative and loyal team members that have little to no advanced experience, and now have no idea what they are allowed to do and what they are not allowed to do. They are tasked with company growth, but have no idea what direction the company will be going in next month, so are hesitant to take action. The husband/wife team view this as laziness on the employee's part, rather than a failure to lead on their part, so their response to this .is more of "the beatings will continue until morale improves".

Pros

may present opportunities for advancement and bonuses but trust me its not worth it.

Cons

the ceo makes knee jerk reactions that create many problems and will eventually run his lifes work into the ground. i started as a temp, picking orders in the warehouse. i was promoted to supervisor over the temps 7 days after my arrival. at that time i was moved into the office to keep time for the temp staff and help put orders out. i did that for 2 days before mr. ceo came to town. 3 days after the CEO comes into he offers me a promotion to warehouse manager and i accepted. 2 days later he sends me an email threatening to take the promotion away. instead of taking away my promotion he changes the tittle to inventory manager. i worked for 10 days as the inventory manager before he decides to bring in 2 new manager to take over the warehouse. mr. ceo pulls me to the side and says dont worry the new manager cant fire you cause i dont trust them so i want you to be my eyes and ears when im away. this was on a thursday. mr ceo left that saturday. i was fired the following monday. thats my experience at ltc.... a roller coaster ride..... gave me the opportunity id always wanted and ripped my heart out in a months time
