Pros

The products themselves are decent, and there are a few individuals within the company who genuinely try to do good work

Cons

* My experience was overwhelmingly negative. I was repeatedly thrown into complex tasks with no real support, clear direction, or proper resources. When issues arose, I was singled out and held to standards that other colleagues were not. Mistakes made by others were overlooked, but mine were treated as personal failings. * No room for growth or grace either. Any "improvement plans" set in place by management were extremely short and felt punitive rather than developmental as there was little time given or any genuine opportunity provided to demonstrate progress. Follow up meetings lacked any real intention to support employee growth either. * There also appears to be a troubling pattern of discrimination against women. During my time there, a few female employees were made redundant in a short period, raising serious concerns about fairness and bias within the organisation

Pros

The company does have genuinely good benefits, and a nice office space. Employees clearly care about the company mission

Cons

Since being taken over by a larger company, things have been stripped back a lot. People clearly are no longer as happy as they once were unfortunately.

Pros

- Company/team bonding experiences - Some strong leaders in parts of the business - Feel like your making a difference - People genuinely want to help and care about pets - Product works and makes you believe in what you’re doing - Some great colleague working relationships - Bonuses

Cons

- Expectations to do far beyond reasonable of your job description - Toxic work culture, reliance on 'feeling like a family' - No opportunity to move up in certain departments unless a position needs filling which will essentially result in two jobs being combined. You’ll be expected to do the workload of both - Biased - Still small-business minded despite growth year on year - Often too many people trying to have an input on projects, lots of people stepping in/over colleagues and unhelpful and unnecessary feedback that goes around in circles - Frequent redundancies leave employees on edge - Honest constructive feedback given to team leaders (surveys, town halls etc) that is either ignored or taken personally - Big gaps in pay between same-level employees - Reliance on and strong bias towards freelancers and agencies despite having in-house talent - Lack of boundaries (personal and professional) - Frequent expectations to work outside of your working hours with no overtime - General feeling of a lack of respect for lower level employees - Lack of professionalism from some senior members of staff - Apathetic team leaders who aren’t willing to stand up for their teams - Slow (if any) reaction from People Team when certain behaviours are reported - Lack of communication between departments
