New owners = New Company... in a bad way.

Pros

They haven't eliminated everything that we once held dear, but just give it some time.

Cons

Since the arrival of our new owners, things have gone downhill faster than anyone could have guessed. They have displayed no interest in keeping employees happy and instead focus entirely on making money. Most recently, we lost our holiday bonus. Shortly after being appointed as the new CEO, Jim Gieger and company then asked us to lobby on Liquid Webs behalf to lower/eliminate taxes on the company. We were provided with scripts and information on how to contact our local representatives. The company has also gone from hiring 10-20 people a month to hiring 3 people per 6 months.

Pros

Free soda and coffee, dress code is very relaxed, team oriented work environment, good place to get some experience to help you get your next job.

Cons

Like the title says, they are always hiring because they're always firing. In the short time I was there, one of the sales guys told me that almost half of the sales team was let go at one time. If you deal with chronic anxiety issues, forget this job. High pressure to keep up the learning pace. Zero job security. Read the other reviews, see the consistency in which a lot of current and former employees say that Liquid Web doesn't value they're hard working people. Rude and aggressive customers. Management that says they will work with you when you're struggling, but do not. Buys companies to eliminate competition then provides poor transition services to the customers of the old companies, making the customers understandably angry, and also lays off the majority of the purchased company's workers. Management complains that the ticket queue is constantly high, but they don't keep enough people to keep the queue low.

Flipping Liquid Web

Pros

Working in Lansing is a low cost of living

Cons

The company will be sold into pieces in the next 5 years by the private equity company out of Chicago. All of the leadership is concerned about maxing a quick buck, and they are not interested in the long haul or building a great company. Money is the motivating factor not customer service.
