    Pros

    Good pay/ benefits/ training and management that care.

    Cons

    The industry is a bit behind the times with flexibility/ work/ life balance and culture (specifically diversity).

    Advice to Management

    Focus on improving diversity and allow that and the wider changes it will bring to set us apart from the rest.

    I have been working at Lookers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The company has great ambition and strong market brand. Strong IT leadership team and creation of a family-like environment. Collaborative, listening culture in IT. New IT strategy that now enables us to work more closely with the other business functions.

    I have been allowed to own my projects with support from my manager and colleagues and have deliver strategic business changes.

    I am made to feel at home whenever I have to travel to any of our dealerships across the UK. Lookers is made up of really nice people.

    Able to work from home on occasions, which affords one good work-life balance.

    Cons

    Pressure to deliver, however that's expected in a company with high ambition and the support available helps me to deal with the pressure.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up with staff engagement and communication.

    Pros

    Whether you enjoy working here or not will entirely depend on the function you are in. Some departments are managed well and some are not.

    Cons

    There are too many old-school managers left who are just in it fir themselves, leading to only hiring and promoting pals. Too much talking and not enough listening.

    Advice to Management

    Support your loyal people who do the walking, not the talking.

    Pros

    Working environment, pay, holidays and company car are the same or slightly better than in the industry

    Cons

    No development unless you are in with the in-crowd. Promotions are obscure and too many old-school mentality boys in senior jobs

    Advice to Management

    Promote fresh ideas and focus on performance and aptitude and not just length of service

    Pros

    Friendly but overworked people in service department
    Great brand to work with
    Company was once well regarded
    Decent pay and benefits

    Cons

    ‚Customer is king‘ is preached but not practiced. Too many customers per exec to deal with. Complaints brushed under the carpet. Unrealistic expectations by senior managers. No help with resolving issues.

    Focus on the customers and allow us to do our jobs

    World class facilities and brands

    Chaotic environment and slow decision making
    Poor and lazy HR function
    Extremely poor delivery of IT projects
    IT and HR stuck in silo mentality with money wasted on pointless projects and initiatives
    You bump into other people who recently joined and we all look at each other in disbelief at how things ‘work’ at Lookers

    Advice to Management

    Company needs a huge culture change to remove silo working and wastefulness. Address the real issues instead of just deflecting them
