I have been working at MBDA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Flexible working, great site facilities including a coffee shop, gym and a decent restaurant with huge variety. Interesting and innovative work with good support and i learn something new everyday.

    Cons

The road into the Stevenage site can be quite busy due to being close to the A1 but generally its an easy journey.

I have been working at MBDA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Friendly people for the most part, a few oldies who can't let go of the glory days. Interesting work, missiles are pretty cool. Varied things going on.

    Cons

Slow and beauracratic. I found that in my 4 years there I was never fully occupied, while others seemed to be overloaded. I worked in multiple positions and always seemed to have the same problem despite asking frequently for more work.

I have been working at MBDA full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Encourages mobility, good training, varied projects, travel opportunities

    Cons

Antiquated manufacturing processes impacts delivery. Too many functional managers not adding real value to projects and always a distraction in order to justify their jobs. Processes are really slow and consequently takes ages to get anything done. Some individuals get career fast tracked and haven't delivered anything consistently but are natural politicians / talkers and don't really understand nuts & bolts engineering...and you'll end up working for them!

I have been working at MBDA full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Flexible working arrangement, good canteen, intellectually stimulating work, good pension, and they throw training at you

    Cons

Changing working practices is hard - some of the ways we work are archaic Underpaid for the industry - a grad in the centre of town can get 40K and I'm here with 20 years experience for just over 25% more?

I have been working at MBDA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

If you just want a salary, free coffee and can't really be bothered then it's a safe place to be - you will probably be promoted if you get along with the right people.

    Cons

Awful management, nobody appears to be in charge or properly managed

I worked at MBDA full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    None that I came across

    Cons

Outdated systems, technology and attitudes. Little innovation and investment. Some lazy and incompetent team members that go unchallenged. No lessons are learnt from mistakes and errors resulting in repetitive errors and slow or non-delivery of objectives and targets to internal stakeholders, which can only affect non delivery externally. If you are forward thinking, dynamic, skilled and experienced then this place is not for you, working here will be a massive backwards step as positive change is not embraced or supported and the lazy and unskilled outweigh the former which is sadly very few and far between.
