Definitely has pros and cons, but you're ultimately working for a company with strong values.
Pros
The company (now NewsHour Productions) is built around having journalistic integrity, and that spreads to every aspect of the company itself. People are extremely passionate about what they do, and there is no such thing as a lazy person here. You do get comp time if you work during a holiday or weekend, which is nice and unexpected. Leadership is overall strong, with producers who work with limited funds to make quality programming.
Cons
9/10 employees work exceptionally long hours for little pay (considering most salaries are paid by grants, you will not be making the big bucks here). There isn't a lot of cross-department work, even among departments that seem to have similar goals, so it can make it more stressful within your own department (sometimes it seems like we're doing the same things at the same time).
