Pros

Nice facilities and buildings Some very lovely staff work here

Cons

Corrupt staff that are petty and practice favoritism Fire staff for being gay (google GUNN v. MARINERS CHURCH INC) Senior pastors make >$100K a year, and pay other staff <$12 an hour after taxes Abusive Work environment with passive aggressiveness and threats Staff pay off employees to stay because they have a MASSIVE retention problem Church makes $38M a year and spends $35M but it sure as hell isn't going on missions.

Watch out for Executive Leadership

Pros

Lots of money and resources, some staff who genuinely want to serve God and others; great campus and some great community/people in the church.

Cons

Executive leadership (particularly under leadership of Executive Pastor) lack integrity. There is a lot of manipulation, lies, mental abuse and there is a reason the organization has gone through many CFO’s and COO’s. If anyone holds the EP accountable, or questions her, they get fired.

Pros

They're really great at selling you programs if you're into that.

Cons

- Licensing pastor practices are sketchy at best. Mariners license people who are "popular" within the church staff, and not necessarily people who are passionate about (or have degrees in) leading people spiritually. - If you're a woman, they will make it difficult for you to move up within the company especially if you come in at an entry-level position. - If you have an opinion that is different than leadership, they will tell you to not talk about it anymore. - Misogynistic leadership
