Doesn't RecommendNeutral OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at Mark Allen Group full-time for more than a year
Pros
- Provides training if you ask for it - Dartford office is nice
Cons
- They get rid of people and give their workload to you without paying you anymore - Treat staff like they are dispensable - Suspicious and untrusting of people working from home - Many middle managers who have no power - London office is cramped, old fashioned and run down. - Not enough holiday - Big gender pay gap favouring men - The COO is bad tempered, rude, aggressive whenever you try and bring up any problems and has absolutely no people skills - They acquire so many companies and plonk the new people down in the new office without any ceremony/social event so people can get to know each other. - The result is a company without any culture and an office full of strangers

"Terrible pay for editorial staff"
- Work/Life Balance★★★★★
- Culture & Values★★★★★
- Career Opportunities★★★★★
- Compensation and Benefits★★★★★
- Senior Management★★★★★
RecommendsApproves of CEOI worked at Mark Allen Group full-time for more than a year
Pros
You'll work alongside some exceptionally, creative, talented and friendly people. MAG has a fantastic NCTJ accredited course for graduates and it's easy to move in to other publications if you show enough interest and commitment.
Cons
Editorial staff were let down by pay that often fell below the industry standard. There was no functioning HR department for some time, though this might have changed. No effort to integrate new staff through regular socials (one year there was no Christmas or Summer party) leading to people feeling demotivated.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We value all of our current and former employees' feedback. I agree, we have an amazing team of talented people here :) I am sorry that you feel editorial staff were let down by pay. We are constantly looking for ways to improve and will take your comments on board. This year we are focused on improving our on-boarding process to give new starters the best start and ensure that they integrate with their immediate team as well as the wider business. We also encourage managers to have regular team socials virtually as well as in person (socially distanced of course). Thank you again for your insight. It helps us make MAG a better company for everyone.
