Run away!

Pros

- Ability to work from home. - Snacks in the office. - This company is a good fit for kids straight out of college and professionals who are desperate to get a better job title. Both categories stick around for 1-2 years tops.

Cons

The company is constantly running out of money, and nobody knows whether they can find another foolish investor. It’s a zombie company that sucks in all the investor money, and never produces enough profit to become self-sufficient. The product doesn’t work. Clients are running away. You never know whether your job is safe. Once a year they restructure the company, change your title and get rid of everybody who’s against change. If you’re lucky, you might get the title you want. All offices are miserable. New York is overcrowded and overworked. You may not know the names of the people who sit next to you, that is if you’re lucky enough to get a desk and a chair. Sacramento and LA offices are quiet and depressing (but, you do get a chair!) Poor benefits. The CEO is insane. Half the employees are afraid of him, the other half is doing their best to avoid him. He tracks Glassdoor reviews and tries to figure out who wrote them, and if he does he is on a hunt. (Hi, Rex! :) ) Current HR, is the worst HR I've ever seen in my entire life. Her biggest interest is saving her own job. She is mean and unfair to employees. Her choice of words and tone are completely unacceptable for her role.

Thank you for the feedback. When growing a company quickly, which we are doing, there are some growing pains. If you would be open to providing specific details via email please reach out to Talent@marketingevolution.com. The executive team & HR is committed to making Marketing Evolution a great place to work and having specific examples of what you have experienced would be really helpful.

Read the negative reviews, twice

Pros

- Startup lifestyle - Employees share a unique bond, through communal distress of the company

Cons

Chiming in to affirm that every critical review here is based in fact and the positive reviews are endearing attempts of cover-ups. The CEO is a detriment to the company, there is no transparency nor integrity, and the product is... well, not what is sold. Highly recommend any prospective employee or client heed the reviews w/ substance.

High turnover, poor product

Pros

- Some great people - Flexible work from home policy - Easy to telecommute - Easy to move up the ladder quickly - A minimum of red tape Sounds great, right?! There really are some good things about this company. But to me, the cons far outweigh the pros.

Cons

I can’t be too specific here without opening myself to a lawsuit, but the product is extremely poor and the promises made to clients are unrealistic. Hours can be long and brutal. Turnover is shockingly high. Morale’s in the toilet. If you let this company take over your life, it will. I really wish I could get more specific here, but all I will say is that I believe the CEO is a detriment to the company and that this is not a good place to work if honesty and integrity are important to you. Now, go back and re-read some of those 5-star reviews. Do they strike you as exceptionally vague and generic? Like maybe a company trying to make itself look better than it is? Just a thought...
