Pros

Company Car Everything else is utterly horrible

Cons

-Ridiculously long hours -Job sites that span 30-150 miles in length -Lied about pay. They say that they'll start you off at 17+ and hour but then you find out (after being hired) that's your pay is based on scores, commissions, and customer reviews -Management made me drive my own car when I lived 60 miles away but gave company cars to employees that lived close to headquarters -TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. They will not solve any of your problems and constantly work you until you're burnt out. They'll even set you up for assignments during your lunch break -Understaffed -doc your pay for idiotic reasons such as reversing out of a parking space in your company car, driving over 45 miles an hour on the highway, etc -Hire anyone off the street after only 1 interview YOU'D BE BETTER OFF WORKIG FOR BEST BUY, THE APPLE STORE, or MCDONALD's. I PRAY THAT YOU LISTEN TO THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS ON THIS WEBSITE BECAUSE THEY ARE ALL TRUE. MASTEC WRITES THE POSITIVE REVIEWS TO OFFSET THE NEGATIVE RESPONSES THAT THE EMPLOYEES POST ON HERE.

you buy tools, avg. paychecks bring home is 400$ for two weeks. They are refusing to pay me my last paycheck. Your told to work off the clock to help the numbers look better. Your supposed to have customers call you not Directv or mastec. Then your told to go out on your own time to hook up HSD, or broken equipment. This standard policy is brought up in EVERY weekly meeting.

Pros

Benefits. You build vacation Time at a decent rate.

It's a piece rate job. That's my biggest complaint. You do not get paid for your drive time between jobs or sitting at a customers house waiting for them to get home and they will not let you rotate it and come back. Then they cut the line items you can claim to get paid for so they take your mo ey and way there. They pay you less to install wireless clients and sometimes they take more time than the wired ones. If a customer doesn't want to pay the $1 per foot of burial over the 20 foot they get for free you have to do it anyways and don't get paid for it. If Mastec were a per hour job it'd be great but why do that when you can screw your workers. They actually had us at one point driving to check line of sight for the next days appointments. We don't get paid for that. It was actually good job before Att took over now there's politics. We use to be able to pump out jobs and now they want you to rebuild every job weither it needs it or not. Almost every service call turns in to a rebuild and at 20 bucks a pop that's not realistic anymore.
