Something Fundamental Is Missing

Pros

- Much flexibility - Opportunities for progression exist in theory (but stagnation prevents these from being realised)

Cons

- Instability - Fragmented and disenfranchised Product team - Lack of real direction from senior execs - Limited awareness of the true value of the product, which led to unrealistic pricing models and prevented market growth - Unnecessarily complex hierarchical structure with no cohesion throughout layers - 'Knowledge hoarding' from some longstanding members prevented the sharing of potentially valuable information

Pros

- Great "Concept" for an offering - "Some" good clients - Some Good Colleagues

Cons

-Egos in Management focused on self fulfillment rather than cohesive overall management - Highly Political for such a small organisation. (Management can stifle employee progress if achievements are not associated with them) - Unhealthy discord between regional offices - Lack of directional clarity and bad "Go to market" strategy - Questionable financial management Overpaid and Overpampered Management - Management hiring "friends" rather than qualified staff

Pros

The dress code was pretty relaxed. The CEO and COO wore shorts and sneakers even though they were in the mid to late 40's. Not much of a pro but hey...neither were they.

Cons

Corporate culture was like a snake pit. No one trusted each other. There was little internal communication. The product vision was weak. The egos of C-Level execs were delusional. No one could set a fair price for the product so they didn't sell anything. When things went bad the following happened: 3 CEOs in 18 months. 3 CFOs in 18 months. 3 VPs of Product in 18 months. The Heads of Sales for NA and EMEA left within two years of being there (or were forced out; unclear as the culture is fundamentally duplicitous). The main sales engineers left and all you had was a pit of snakes looking for the next un-empowered employee to bite because management was not full of leaders. Just some people who got lucky riding other people's coat tails.
