There are several issues within the company that are difficult to summarize. Senior management appears indifferent or powerless to improve the lives of their employees. The company culture is chaotic, on-site workers are often overlooked, while remote workers are flown across the country for "events" that primarily involve drinking at bars. These events, known as "Leadership Meetings," often create resentment among the production employees on the floor and those who attend them. Pictures of these events are widely circulated throughout the company to show how much "fun" they are, thus adding insult to injury. The people who produce the product and care about the customers are excluded from these events.
The upper management of the company seems to have a lack of interest in maintaining quality standards and often neglects them. The new Chief Operating Officer (COO) was heard saying that sometimes they prioritize production over quality, which should not be the case. As a result, the quality department is mainly staffed with employees from the production team who lack the necessary education or certification in quality. They have been given these positions only because they have grown tired of their current job roles.
Company and leadership do not encourage their employees to grow and gain additional skills or knowledge, instead, leaders have been known to "call out" employees who are trying to get certifications that would allow them to do their job more efficiently. These leaders often make statements like "Why would you want to do that", or "Are you trying to replace me".
Planning is abysmal, there are often weeks where production is being held up due to poor planning only to be followed by weeks of overtime to "recover". Naturally, the planning department is 100% remote so they are never subjected to putting in extra hours to correct their mistakes.
The HR department is non-existent, even though all of the HR employees were hired within the last year. They have two offices on-site, but they are never present. When employees try to reach out to them, they are often given a phone number or email to contact the corporate office. It's frustrating for employees who need help and don't know how to get it.
