I have been working at Mencap full-time for more than 4 years

        Pros

The people that work for Mencap on the front line are great, most really care about the people we support and go above and beyond to ensure those people achieve. Flexible working Approachable first line managers

        Cons

Pay- a like for like job within a local authority pays considerably more Senior management are unapproachable and have a self important attitude The workload can sometimes be overwhelming

        Advice to Management

The pay really needs to be sorted out, this would decrease staff turnover and stop good quality staff leaving for better paid roles. Senior management should be retained on our leadership way values ‘speak truth to power’ is unrealistic and no one ever does it.

I have been working at Mencap full-time for more than 2 years

        Pros

Great flexi works and the ability to have some autonomy.

        Cons

Pay is nowhere near competitive. Most employees are grossly underpaid and undervalued

        Advice to Management

When considering if pay is in line with the rest of the industry instead of comparing like for like job titles, you should be considering job description. Take Westminster Drug Project who pay their employment coordinators £26,000. That is reasonable. £20,100 is nowhere reasonable for the level of work you are asking of.
