      Pros

      Merchants is truly a rare gem. It's a company that will support you and encourage your professional growth long term. Many employees have been with the company for decades, which you don't see much anymore in this modern era. This speaks to the quality of culture and positive spirit that exists at Merchants. I absolutely recommend Merchants to anyone seeking a rewarding career.

      Pros

      Incredibly transparent with employees. Great benefits. Opportunity to earn a higher salary is a direct result of what you’re willing to put into your job.

      Cons

      The median age of the company is higher than most office settings. This has led to a hesitation to adapt to evolving technologies at times, but this has been less of a problem recently as the company has started to open up to the idea of modernization, both in terms of tech and policies like work from home, etc.

      Pros

      Almost everyone here has been here for years and years. Benefits are solid. They pay to further your education and have a very generous amount of PTO. There is the option to study for designations in insurance and further your career here while promoting people regularly. (They reimburse for books and exams). They have a reasonably priced and reasonably healthy cafeteria!

      Cons

      Couldn't think of one if I tried.
