Pros

-Work is fun and interesting. No two days are exactly the same and I’m always on my toes overcoming new challenges. I also get to use my creativity which is nice. -Staff is nice and supportive. Haven’t had any problems with anyone, and management is always around if I have any questions. -Excellent work-life balance. I work a lot when I’m on the clock but I’ve never had to stay overtime or think about projects on my weekends off. -The salary is competitive; I’m making more than enough to live comfortably.

Cons

Not a lot of people on the team so there’s not a lot of people to turn to for inspiration if I’m having a creative block.

Too many tone-deaf chiefs

Pros

Lenient telecommuting policy; free coffee; air conditioning and heat in the office (most of the time); free internet access; no need to stress about bonuses (you won't get any)

Cons

Too much emphasis on change and no desire to find out what's working, what's not, and what their employees think is important. The company had a good, long run at one point with a successful product and happy clients. Then it was decided for some reason that everything needed to change. They've been in flux for years now and just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. Recognition program in place is completely broken and not at all effective.

Pros

I saw the potential of what the company could be and found most colleagues agreed several years ago. Unfortunately, the execution required to attain that vision was flawed, constantly changing and unreachable. Due to the numerous areas needing attention, the management teams had to collectively put the vision on the hold because there were far too many fires that needed tending to keep the each organization above water. I believed I could have made a difference; however, the constant change month over month deflected all attempts (still appears that way today)

Cons

Management is not empowered to execute the changes necessary to improve people, product and processes. Everything continues to remain status quo even though very good leadership/management regimes have come and gone multiple times. The revolving door in and out of Meridian is frightening. New hire candidates and employees should understand the true statistics regarding employee churn, customer churn/satisfaction levels, sales/revenue year over year, product quality and ongoing advancement of features.
