      My experience at Merrick was among, if not, the worst in my professional career and I am a seasoned veteran.

      Pros

      The employees at Merrick are just lovely and ARE a family, but they have to be to survive. Merrick is being taken over by a Norwegian company, which will be a pro when they squeeze the heathen out.

      Cons

      The owner and Ex-CEO is a narcissistic, angry woman who micromanages and enjoys finding errors in employee's (and client's) work and harping upon it. This is not said mildly at all. She spends all day, waking and sleeping hours, finding short falls in anyone and everyone in her life. I went into the job knowing this and it was still too much for any human being to stand.There are not words to fully describe this demon of a human being.

      -Laid back atmosphere -Location, if you like downtown -Company is trying to grow -Family oriented, which can feel expected whether you want to or not

      Cons

      -Horrible office chairs, the kinds of cheap chairs you find in Walmart -Small Company, trying to be a big company -No training or employee development plan -Terrible parking, if you drive a big vehicle if you work in Houston -Low pay, super low pay, insultingly low pay -Disorganized -Cliques -Not a great environment for someone who is new to the workforce -No motivation and no direction from management -Can easily feel lost and bored
