Real issues
- Inflexible attitude to even very small matters (where people eat lunch on a Friday, whether a light is turned on or off). This felt more than a little fussy and oppressive.
- Cultural and procedural issues swept under the carpet. In fairness, it seemed there was real intent to address some of the procedural ones.
- The two cofounders were very difficult to work with on a bad day.
- I witnessed professional adults being treated like children (spoken to in a patronising and sometimes aggressive tone of voice). Apologies were forthcoming on the rare occasion, however I found the whole dramatic process unnecessary and unacceptable.
Niggles
- Obligated to participate in all manner of team-bonding commitments and activities (you'll spot them as they're all prefixed with 'Meta') - when all you really want to do is get your work done and go home to your real life(!)
- Far too many Slack channels!
