Pros

- Great culture with high energy; employees genuinely care about each other - Ability to work remotely - Opportunity to leave your mark - Growing company with a big but attainable vision

Cons

- Meta provides the basic benefits (health, dental, vision, etc.), but having more would put this company over the top.

Pros

I came in after new leadership was instituted in early 2017 and it has been a wonderful experience since. It's definitely a "young" feel (most employees are in their mid-twenties) and the culture is absolutely one of positivity. I'm always amazed at the sheer talent of those around me and the management is fairly laid back because most of us are self-starters. One other aspect I love about working for a smaller company (50ish employees) is the ability to get involved in all areas of the business (if you choose) and then see your impact immediately. Management is supportive of your career goals and if you show interest in something other than your core work I have found nothing other than support. If you want to get involved with something after hours Meta also has gatherings for Pathfinder (think D&D), book club, game night or happy hour.

Cons

While the culture is great and my co-workers are amazingly talented we do support an aging software. That's not to say it isn't powerful but it can be difficult to support across a broad range of clientele because of some of the customizations made prior. To that end, Meta has adjusted how upgrades are rolled out and significant improvements have been made since I began.

Thank you for the feedback. Meta is making an effort to improve in all areas. We try to be supportive of everyone's career goals and understand you spend a large portion of your life at work so you should enjoy it and be able to contribute at all levels. We have taken steps in the past 6-12 months to address the product feedback and will continue to do so. Constructive feedback such as what is listed above allows us to understand the strengths and weaknesses of our product and where we should focus our resources.

Talented, dedicated new team

Pros

- The new team is smart, approachable, and hard-working. Management is flat, appreciative, and communicates changes clearly. - Fun, outside-of-work socials: PS team gets together for drinks/breakfast/dinner (but these events are totally optional). - The office is located in, in my humble opinion, the best building in Iowa City: ceiling-to-floor windows in the heart of the downtown area (Park@201). - Office dress is casual. - The PS floor is also female-friendly; no casual sexism often present in business environments. - Actually taking a lunch break is encouraged, barring the occasional client meeting.

Cons

The company has undergone some major management changes in the last year. While these changes are moving the company in the right direction, there's a lot to be done. Management is aware of this and is working on making those changes.

Thank you for the feedback. We believe our values align with employing smart, approachable, and hard-working employees. As a fast growing company our employees are the most important part of what Meta does. The leadership change has brought some exciting changes and those leaders have looked to employees for their thoughts and input in regards to how we proceed forward as a company. We appreciate the advice and will continue to do so as a team.
