Pros

Fantastic Colleagues at the face of service. Chaplaincy, Music Therapy and our Carers. Head Office have a few golden nuggets. If their were honest people at the top, who live the values and cared for Staff as much as we are for residents there wouldn't be a better place than MHA

Cons

HR directorate seem to be the rotting head of the fish, policies are used and abused dependent on the person they are dealing with. ELT and their clicks are only thinking of their own benefits and safety and ticking boxes to not be liable whilst making people suffer. Racism is rife , having an EDI network doesn't make it right. (Again a tick box exercise) Seems to be full of management who are furthering their own agendas and becoming more and more dictatorial this includes blocking channels of communication that aren't in his close network of dictators. All the good ones who pushed, challenged and spoke up for residents and the MHA values have been forced out strategically or through pure fatigue of trying. Many who have left bare the scars won't even keep in touch as they say that after buying into the vision, values and giving their all to MHA, when you are forced out , the place you loved so much then feels traumatic even to recollect on whatever good you saw. PTSD is probably the reward for giving your soul to MHA.

Pros

Some very friendly people, and in general a very helpful environment.

Cons

The problem with the organisation can stem from the following: 1. Lack of a coherent strategy 2. Very heriarchial, and no listening to what is happening in the ground. Information is held and not actively shared and develops a a lack of trust (even though it may not have been intented). 3. A toxic culture which leads to quite high turnover through brownout. 4. There is a perception that from the top, management do not trust staff or expertise. Challenging thoughts is not allowed even if these are with the best of intentions.
