There are no pros working here

Cons

Not paid enough for what is required. One person has to do five jobs at once and often times there was only me and a manager working. Received little training on first day and left completely alone second day working there. SM barely does anything.

Employee discount (but barely that because they constantly give a 30% coupon on the website)

Everything. Management is terrible. Overworked and underpaid. Poor/no training. Lots of changes with little support.

Nice coworkers, employee discount, overtime during holidays. great customer service opportunities during day hours, warm customers

Cons

Incomplete training for the job title, too many bosses, toxic gaslighting by management, Night shifts are stacked with unreasonable responsibilities.

As a crafter, I got a nice discount.

I would be thrown into new parts of the job without notice or training, like teaching the free Sunday craft sessions for kids.

Employee discount was a nice perk.

Was quickly scheduled for more hours than I originally requested and given customer framing responsibilities with no additional compensation and minimal training.

Pros

Relatively easy job, lots to keep you busy and moving if you hate a stationary job. Easy to keep moving up from this role. The right team will make this your favourite role! Perfect job if you enjoy being the solution for everyday problems (just get your pay's worth).

Cons

Far too many hats, as Michaels tends to understaff. Can be a real slog with lack of support for training and followup coachings for cashiers. Hard to recommend this job long-term due to typically low entry pay, and pay gaps in similar management roles caused by company decisions over the last half decade or so.

Pros

Interesting artwork, sports memorabilia, to work on. Get to work with your hands & get your steps in.

Cons

Too difficult to get the amount of hours wanted & skilled training. Closing consists of lots of house keeping work. Still working in a big box retail store & the joys that come with it.

most days were not super busy, unless it was a weekend or a holiday

Cons

paid barely above minimum wage, management was unprofessional and aloof, training was less than the bare minimum, would cut my hours and then call me in the next day due to being short staffed
