Pros

There is a lot of experience to be gained by working for the City of Milwaukee, since it is a bigger city that has its fair share of challenges.

Cons

Poor management from the top down, in which no one has yet figured out that happy employees are generally more productive than those who are not. If you accumulate too many years on the job here, you may feel trapped here as you do not want to give up certain benefits such as vacation time.

Pros

Large city, many locations to work for/with.

Cons

Too many employees just don't care and those that are the worst seem to get promoted to management.

Pros

Cohesive work environment, fun/challenging work, out in the field

Cons

Department of employee relations is single handedly destroying the department. Their lack of concern over high turnover and lackluster pay studies have caused our department to lose many great employees to other municipalities. Their incompetence and lack of care for their profession is affecting departments across the city.
