I worked in the finance department and it is shambolic. The business makes much of the “unique” culture and focus on people whereas the reality is a culture of incompetence, fear and a lack of support for people. There is no HR function and therefore there are no processes in place to support people in development, performance or wellbeing. The founders are unprofessional egotists and unless you are a yes woman / man and pay “homage” to them then you are sidelined and neglected.

The back-biting, back-stabbing and and gaslighting at Mindera were beyond anything I've ever seen anywhere. It's intensely cliquey and the rejection of conventional management appears to have led to an insecure, ego-driven boys' club culture that's completely out of balance. Transparent, collaborative working styles were heavily frowned upon and reckless, domineering approaches were encouraged and prized above all else, including outcomes. Power appeared to be naively handed out to the most obsequious, politically-minded people (usually also the least technical), then misused and abused with no accountability and predictably nasty consequences. While there are still some competent, principled engineers at Mindera who I enjoyed working with and would gladly work with again, I couldn't recommend it as an organisation. If my experience of the business is anything to go by, it's heading from bad to worse and a lot of people are starting to move on.
