Pros

Great product - market leader in contextual email Good office location Nice people working in London office

Cons

Micromanagement from US office Upper management in US/UK doesn't trust or support employees. Lack of cohesion within the sales team No feedback to upper management and unwillingness to listen to employees. Expectation that if it works in the US then it will work in the UK Confusing sales messaging - constantly changing - NOW with new product lines, they are stepping into a crowded environment within the personalisation space Very slow to make any change with marketing and HR - they have been looking for a partnership manager for over 12 months. Unnecessary long recruiting process. Zero support from HR - have management best interest at heart and not the employees Marketing has gone backwards

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. The employee experience is something we value greatly and are always trying to find new ways in making it a positive one for all our Inkers. We are sorry to hear that you felt there was a disconnect between the UK team and upper management. It is really important to us that our UK employees feel supported and that there is an avenue for them to share their feedback. We understand that face time is vital and therefore make an effort to fly at least one member of the executive team or senior leadership team to the UK office each month in order to ensure that they have an opportunity to meet in person and hear directly from our UK Inkers. Additionally, we fly in our UK sales team to the NY headquarters every quarter for company-wide quarterly sales updates. This offers employees the opportunity to share their experiences, ideas and concerns with their peers and all levels of management, including the CEO. We truly value our UK employees and are investing heavily in the growth of that region by hiring senior employees that understand the market. However, we are also going to make sure we only hire and retain the best talent. The people at Movable Ink have made the company what it is today, and they deserve to work with the best. We are working hard to find the UK office a truly awesome and dedicated Talent Specialist that can focus solely on hiring and servicing the needs of the employees out there and help with our global expansion.

Pros

Interesting technology and many good people

Cons

Culture was not inclusive. Things had to be done a certain way with no room for other viewpoints. People tended to be cliquey and it was hard to break in and collaborate

Great product, poor leadership and culture

Pros

Market leader in contextual email/real time content Good bunch in the UK office, friendly, knowledgeable and promote a flexible 'start-up' culture

Cons

Teams micro-managed from the US, mainly due to a distinct lack of trust. Struggling UK sales team - not enough time or help given to new starters, barely any product training yet expected to be technical experts, long sales cycles and a lack of investment lead to a low morale. The US made constant changes to sales messaging and tried to implement a scripted-feature-sell approach which doesn't work. Product is expensive in comparison to competitors and based on a US pricing model, sales targets were simply unrealistic (no one hit target in the UK). Marketing activity again controlled from the US, with a tiny portion of the budget allocated to the UK for events and other activities. No support from HR - the only person who looked after this joined and quickly left. All of the above resulted in talented people leaving the business, mostly through frustration. It wasn’t a good experience, the staff are treated poorly and I would not recommend working for Movable Ink.
