Avoid this place

Pros

- Laser communications is a cool technology. This is what attracts people to this company - Apparently there is a good Marketing and Sales Team. - Good company parties

Cons

- Managers are beyond horrible, i.e. Team "Leaders", they do not know even the basics of managing and leading teams; Lack of leadership, lack of managing skills and also technical skills. On top of that they are arrogant, this is a terrible combination and very harmful for the company. If you are an experienced engineer avoid this place at all cost, you know better and do not want to deal with such level of unprofessionalism. - Young Engineers might think this place is okay because they do not know any better. Here you will learn what NOT to do to make a product successful. - The only people happy with this company are those who no serious company would hire them for positions like they currently hold, such as Team Leaders, Directors, Head of, Project managers, etc. and those with little or no previous experience in industry. - This company does not do anything to retain their personal, many people leave every month. - The level of disorganisation is appalling, but I guess is has to do with the level of incompetence of their managers. - If you come from non-EU country, avoid this place. Usually they offer below average salary to you, which might look good from abroad. Once you are here you will see that it is not enough, but your visa depends on this job and they will not raise it regardless you do good work. -The offices are open spaces and most meetings are on Teams. You can imagine how annoying that is.

Pros

People join because of the fascinating technology but then have a rude awakening once they learn they cannot get anything done because of politics. There are a few good workers left whom I admire for trying to give their best while stoically ignoring the atrocities of their superiors, but this is not how it is supposed to be.

Cons

The company is burning through the cash from going public and is a bloated, inefficiently run entity that is largely devoid of creativity and innovation. It is impossible to get anything done, be it due to the ridiculously slow and intransparent process for ordering components, or because of (rightfully) disenchanted colleagues not bothering to care about anything. The majority of those who don't leave immediately either stay for convenience (e.g. family to feed) / fear (immigration status) or because they have no professional alternatives. This is the breeding ground for plots and bad vibes in general, but not for innovation. It will harm your career and personal development if you try to move along with this unculture. If you don't, managers will find ways to make your life hell.

Hired engineers as technician just to reduce recruiting time process (not integrity of the managment). Managment at the first experience as leading team. Home working often not considered as an option. High turnover of people that prefer to leave the company. Salary not alligned with bavarian stds.
