Pros

flexible schedule, on campus, good for an entry level or first internship if nothing else is available

Cons

Managers have favorites, if you’re not asian don’t bother-they will mostly hire their own people(friends/others asians), and if you do work with them they will throw anyone who isn’t their kind under the bus to save their skin, so beware and speak up for yourself. Managers and supervisors are extremely creepy and get comfortable telling racist and sexist jokes in front of everybody. If you are a woman you WILL get harassed, and if you try to speak up, they will not listen because “they’re kidding” and everyone is in on it. Coworkers are extremely two faced, as soon as you walk out the door they WILL start a conversation about you, and not a nice one. They get involved in your personal life. They expect you to do other people’s job for the same pay. Barely any room for growth unless you’re kissing the manager’s feet. Supervisors will take credit for your work, but will provide no help, training for new/difficult assignment and blame you if something goes wrong. Supervisors would constantly engage in conversations about their students’ bodies, intimate life, partners/sexuality, race, level of intelligence or lack thereof and all around be terrible people and example for students to be around. Extremely large programs to finish with little to no heads up to prepare, they do not care if you have one person working they schedule huge projects with no regards to personnel available. AVOID you deserve better !!

NIAR

Pros

Flexible scheduling Decent pay for students Hands on industry experience

Cons

ATLAS needs to be investigated by HR, would not recommend my worst enemy to work there. The management is shady, there is rampant nepotism and favoritism. The director is insanely shady and treats people under him like property instead of human beings. One of the senior managers has a laundry list of complaints against him and is somehow still around. Avoid if you can.
