      Great place to get your foot in the door in the environmental world in NYC - don't expect to stay long

      Pros

      Super diverse staff, the team members that had stuck around for a long time were super hard working, great opportunities to network with other greening organizations in the city.

      Cons

      No room for growth or salary increases. Many staff starts as Americorps which leads to a culture of underpayment and people feeling undervalued. Upper management makes three figures while the lowest-paid staff qualifies for food stamps. Management explicitly told me they expected someone like me to move on after 2 years.

      The company has a wonderful mission and tries its best to serve communities in need.

      Cons

      High turn over rate. Too many internal issues in the office. No HR Department.
