Pros

Empathetic colleagues. Flexible work arrangements for certain roles. Great benefits ranging from paid medical to free movies and team bonding activities every quarter.

Cons

Salary is on the lower end. Limited opportunities for progression, not counting very specific scenarios. Quality of life varies widely based on which department you work for.

Great welfare, but management is a mixed bag

Pros

Good welfare benefits and feels good to be doing genuinely good things

Cons

Salary and promotion is poorly structured and opaque. Workload varies - some teams are extremely overworked. We work in the library, not the A&E

Pros

Stable job. Slower pace. Lots of benefits.

Cons

Red tapes, red tapes and red tapes. People can tend to lose that kampung spirit of helping each other out as everyone is out to protect themselves, worrying about leaving any audit trails which might get them in trouble. Lots of layer of approvals and justifications for works to be done. Bosses and superior can be salty at times, I mean come on, driving a Conti car to work and they were making indirect statements and comments in group meetings. "I know some of you might be born rich, but try not to drive fancy cars to work it might not look good when auditors are here and their cars are smaller than yours". You can question your staff's work capabilities but I guess you cannot question what they drives to work. We are in living in a democratic society not Communism in North Korea where everyone share equal wealths. While you are driving a small car to work, that doesn't mean I have to stoop to your level or even ride a bicycle to work. PS: I bought the car with my own earned salary not generational or family wealth.
