Pros

Extremely meaningful work with clients, love every second of working and connecting with clients. I learned so much within my time in the agency.

Cons

Leadership within the organization is extremely disappointing and often reflects a clique-like, high school dynamic that creates an unprofessional work environment. Employees are frequently overworked and underpaid, with little recognition or support for the demands of the role. There is a noticeable lack of respect from leadership, with communication often coming across as dismissive or condescending. Support for staff is minimal, especially when employees are struggling, yet leadership is quick to point even minor mistakes. The organization experiences constant changes without clear or consistent communication, making it difficult for employees to stay informed and succeed in their roles. Expectations are often unclear, yet staff are held accountable for not being up to date. Concerns about leadership, particularly within admissions, have been raised multiple times by staff, but there appears to be little to no accountability or follow-through. This contributes to a culture where employees feel unheard and undervalued.

Pros

Connecting with the children & mothers Teachers were nice & we supported each other I miss teaching the children there, they were great and we had fun I Don’t regret working there with some great teachers, I learned a lot and made friends, I’m grateful for that

Cons

Management doesn’t care how teachers were treated honestly.. They sweep everything under the rug. The turnover rate is high because the management is always nasty to the teachers. They shows favoritism, acts very discriminatory and just makes you feel uncomfortable… Good luck with getting any kind of help in your classroom, the teachers would have to check on one another for a bathroom break while they just be sitting in the office watching the cameras and you’ll get in trouble if you do help each other. You’ll get called to the office for the “talk” Leadership sees you struggling and you get no help from them until you’re completely stressed out with so many children by yourself and sometimes out of ratio. If a child is acting out in the classroom they’ll let them sit in the office for 1 minute then take them back to your class for them to continue to act up while they goes to sit back in the office. They would rather you’re stressed out than calling their parents (who’s on the campus) or be any type of help with their behaviors. Which would be violence towards teachers or students. They didn’t care, it wasn’t their problem, you’ll have to figure it out. When new teachers come in there’s no proper training, you’re just thrown in there and it’s super overwhelming. They’ll just “assume” you know how to do something or where something is without showing you or teaching you like a management should do when you first start a job. My time at nexus was not positive because of leadership, they made me and other teachers feel low, unappreciated and uncomfortable. I needed my job so I bit my tongue a lot & had a couple of cry sessions in the bathrooms because of it. Working there has put so much stress on me, leaving was the best choice I’ve made, it made me feel better, lighter, like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Working there was not good for my mental health. There was times when leadership was out of the center for days and those were the best days at the daycare, everyone could relax and breathe without having to walk on eggs shells all of the time. Very stressful. I could write a novel on everything that’s happened there, horrible.DO BETTER. 11+ teachers left in the year 2023, please do the math on that… I was one of them because of all of this. Very sad. This is a real honest review. Think twice before working at the center or have a very strong backbone!
