- If you do have any issues involving other coworkers, supervisors will hear you out but don't seem to go beyond that to address the issue. Two times I went to two separate supervisors about coworkers not pulling their weight or only doing part of their job and though they said it would be addressed, they never mentioned to me later that they talked to said coworkers and I still found the coworkers to not be doing the tasks as they were assigned.
- Some micro-management from supervisors and lack of communication. A task has to be done a certain way and completed fully at a certain time, no exceptions. A few times I couldn't take a break because it HAD to be done in that time frame even if the pile of work was more than usual. Certain supervisors don't come around to check on you nor try to accommodate/get someone to help finish the task so you can take a break.
-No advancement. If you want to move up to working with circulation/on desk they only hire those with a degree and always outside of the workforce. Me and several others had tried to move up to a better position, but were always turned down even if we had worked there for several years.
-not a flexible schedule which is strange for part-time. You had to work the same hours and days, couldn't change it, and couldn't just switch hours/days with a coworker through the supervisor, you had to go all the way to HR or head supervisor and even then they didn't like it/ were reluctant to change. You had to go through some hoops to have it done. Really hard for those that needed another part-time job or were going to school and the class schedule changes each semester.
