Pros

-Some amazing people -Strong product for SMB space -Remote First -Good pay and benefits.

Cons

The first 3 months were great. Then Leadership got greedy and exploded the headcount without ensuring the foundations were in place. Sure enough 6 months later, a round of lay offs. All of the amazing people who were affected are paying for mistakes made at the leadership level. Targets were unachievable. I’ve never been part of a sales org where so few reps were hitting target. Management admitted that the company goals were too high but targets were never lowered. Pricing is set up to make it harder for reps to bring in bigger deals. Changes were made which had major impact on reps’ ability to make quota with zero consultation. New product features were continuously pushed back undermining credibility. There is an abundance of talent in the sales teams, but being brutally honest, it is galling to have lost my job when people were kept on with almost no sales YTD. Some amazing talent was part of the layoffs, and with the seemingly crushingly morale, I wouldn’t be surprised if the rest of the top sales talent is out of the door and leaving them in a really bad place. Overall it’s a good product but the company is on the ropes and if management don’t turn it around quickly, it will all come crashing down around them before they know it.

Pros

Nylas are truly building a first-class business and already catering for major global brands, on track to be a legitimate unicorn in the next couple of years. Considerate and robust leadership team who have a clear mission. Very little micromanagement, yet support and guidance available when needed. Independent ideas and ownership of problems are welcomed. Closing deals is often a collaborative effort whilst senior management are happy to provide time and knowledge to get opportunities across the line. No ideas are bad ideas - the company does listen and wants feedback. Challenging role with a complex sales path and ongoing learning opportunities. Fast paced environment.

Cons

May be overwhelming for some individuals, in terms of the product complexity and solution selling skill set know-how. Main team based in US, so a lot of internal meetings naturally align with their time zone (although these don't happen too regularly).

Pros

- Great people - Great Culture - Good Benefits - Potentially has a really interesting solution

Cons

- Not Enterprise Ready for their Enterprise Attractive Product - The tactic was to Hire AE's to Create Pipeline. This didn't work. - Long sales cycles for the enterprise solution and not sure if the leadership in the US appreciate the differences in culture when it comes to data between Europe and the US and Nylas' high ARR solution can be interpreted as data intrusive by some - Pass the blame to sales culture.
