I am sorry to hear about your discontentment. Open Road cares about their employees wellbeing and pay. I am not sure why you may have this perception. However, we are glad to discuss your concerns further. You have been with us 3 plus years, it sounds like something may have triggered this recently. This has been a very difficult year, we tried very hard to take care of our employees . First and foremost, the company is doing business and employees are currently working. We paid our employees benefits during their COVID furlough and we paid an average weekly wage upon return for 2 plus months until business came up to speed. The owner does not make all of the decisions alone. Business decisions are made as a team. That team includes the President, Vice Presidents, Group Control and myself. We look forward to discussing your perceptions further. Respectfully, Lisa Cesaro VPHR

The Real Story of Open Road

Pros

Base salary for all commission employees - minimal, but it's there. 401k and Health insurance

Cons

The company claims to be all about their employees and advancement. Yet within the seven years I worked for them not once did I see someone advance. I was a manager in the same store and all I saw in that store and through out he company was; demotions, people being fired and hard working employees not given the opportunity to advance, because how they/ the VPs put it "you don't have the experience." They are unwilling to train and unwilling to promote. Not a good fit for someone looking to move up in the ranks! Sales commisions and salaries have fluctuated and never in the employees favor. The fees that the sales department have adds an astronomical amount to the deal before taxes and dmv work, making it very difficult to compete with other dealers. All of the extra unwarranted fees goes straight to corporate pockets, must be nice huh? You work the top amount of hours possible, days off are taken away consitantly and you get paid the bottom of the line. With little to absolutely no thanks or appreciation. Moral of the story.... There are better companies out there! Know your worth, and know Open Road is not worth it.

Pros

Name recognition in the industry

Cons

New CEO married into business. Like to change pay plans when you start making too much $ in their eyes. Not professional. Does not recognize achievements. If they don't like you they will move you to another state where there is a store to get you to quit so they don't have to pay unemployment instead of firing you.
