Great Mission, but...

Pros

The mission of OCDC is fantastic and one of the highlights of my job was visiting the various sites and seeing the amazing teachers doing their work. It was impossible to have a bad day after seeing all of the kids smiling faces. Employees/coworkers at the sites were the best people to work with and everyone genuinely wanted to help and to support the overall mission!

Cons

This is a great place to work until anything happens, especially with a supervisor or co-worker. The HR department will either be non-existent, or will have their hands tied by their director and nothing will ever be resolved. If you are specifically looking to work in Facilities for this organization, run away as fast as you can. The new manager is the epitome of a narcissistic control freak who will want to track your every movement, approve any emails before you send them and throw you under the bus every chance he gets if it benefits him in anyway. Add to that the comment above about the HR department not doing anything. After multiple complaints by multiple employees, their response is "deal with it because he's the guy".

Pros

There are some people at the organization who care about the quality of life for migrants.

Cons

If you are white with a disability, they won't help you and will try and set you up with an illegal to keep him/her in the country. They lack compassion and empathy as an organization, disregard the ADA, won't ask you what you need and put you in a back cube and not introduce you to anyone who might help. They have resources and support but won't give you the time of day nor will they develop or train you or help you get the job that you tell them you are looking at and need.
