Terribly sad decline of what used to be a great company

Pros

The staff - who generally, were recruited well, and made great, hardworking and fun colleagues to be with. Some of the products were genuinely market leaders, and had great potential. To begin with, incentives and staff morale events were really good, and the office was fun. Good IT equipment to work with (again, initially)

Cons

Over the past year (to May 2018), the staff morale has hit rock bottom - no atmosphere in the office any more. Huge amounts of money invested in the wrong products, that the market isn't ready for yet, at the expense of the products that are able to be sold in the UK, which are now long in the tooth and uncompetitive. Terrible management from NZ, and a heartless and callous redundancy process Complete denial of anything going wrong with the company - no mention by any managers of what is currently happening, which is disrespectful to the staff, particularly those who are about to, or who have just lost their jobs. No, or very little training, and unless you are a Kiwi, precious little in the way of career or travel opportunities.

Pros

Very loose job structure - this can have it's benefits.

Cons

Orion have made dozens of people redundant/lots of people leave due to unhappiness. There is no communication e.g. informing long standing employees that they are re-locating to another office (surely this is a basic?) Too much office politics (it is the senior management who encourage this) Not enough pay The company do not care about you, they treat employees with disrespect There is no office space to work in, you have to book a chair if you want to work in the office (only 12 seats for 40 odd employees) No career progression Micro-management of time sheets, expenses, office cupboards are not permitted access to. Senior staff are overtly sensitive, do not offer new ideas or stand up for yourself as they get offended and most likely will throw you out.

Pros

Flexibility. Friendly staff. Offices well located in London.

Cons

Lack of training, consultants learn on the job with the subsequent impact on the projects and clients. Horrible management at every level. No control of anything, projects, people, assets. Low morale in the workplace.
